Welcome to the new C.A.R. year!
I am excited to serve you as our society president for the 2011-2012 C.A.R. year. This summer was very exciting because of all the activities that were offered. In June, several of our society members traveled to Duncanville for the Texas State Board. We toured the Penn Farm in Cedar Hill State Park learning about the farm’s history and family. In July, several of us went to New Orleans, LA for the South Central Regional meeting. We learned about all the national contests and especially National President Mary Lib Schmidt’s National Project. We even had a chance to tour the WWII museum in downtown New Orleans. August was the end of our summer events for C.A.R. when we went to Navasota to have our State Workshop at Washington-On-The-Brazos State Park. (By the way, we toured the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory along the way - that was a delicious experience!) At the meeting, we learned about all the state contests. I really look forward to having a fun-filled year as a society. I hope that you will attend our meetings and learn more about our nation’s history.
Sincerely,
Tripp
